Now
What I mean by this is being in the present momentthe now. Don't worry about the past. It's water under the bridge. It can help us with learning what to do differently (learning from our mistakes'etc). What we need to be is present to what's happening around us and in our own lives. When someone is talking to you are you really listening to what they are saying, or are you thinking about what you are going to say next? If you have children and they are talking to you are you really listening to them, or is your mind thinking about all the chores that need doing?
You see, the now is the present moment. It's the one thing that you can affect right away. How you act and respond in the present moment can make a massive difference to your life and to those you interact with.
This concept is very powerful. Once you understand this then you are fully in charge of the present moment. A lot of people don't get this. Their minds are not focused on the present moment. Everyday they could be missing out on loads of opportunities to living a wonderful life. All because their mind is reminding them about a similar situation that happened in the past, or something they have been dreaming about in the future.
They are not fully focused on their listening and interaction. They are focused on what their mind is telling them, not about what it is they are doing or what is happening about them.
With practice you can work at being in the present moment. You can assign the past to the past and leave it there and you can use your goal setting to enable you to turn your dreams into reality. |
