Hoodia Weight Loss Information: Guide for Healthy Future

Author: Emily King

Hoodia Gordonii also known as Hoodia, khoba, Ghaap, hoodia cactus, xhooba, and South African desert cactus is a natural weight loss agent. Hoodia is a cactus like plant found in the Kalahari Desert which has caused a stir in the weight loss market. It breeds in thickets of green upright stems and is essentially a succulent, not a cactus. It takes about 5 years before Hoodia's pale purple flowers become visible and the plant can be harvested. There are nearly 20 kinds of Hoodia, but only the Hoodia Gordonii type is considered to enclose the natural appetite suppressant.

Although Hoodia was unearthed comparatively recently, the San Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert have been consuming it for a very long time. It was initially used by the Bushmen, who during their nomadic hunting trips would cut off a part of Hoodia stem and consume it ward off hunger and thirst. Its usage was also extended for diabetes, hemorrhoids, tuberculosis, indigestion, severe abdominal cramps, and hypertension.

In the year 1937, a Dutch anthropologist studied that San Bushmen utilized Hoodia to curb appetite. It was not until 1963 when at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), scientists initiated research on Hoodia. In fact, initial results portrayed a very promising weight loss picture with intake of Hoodia. The South African scientists, aligning with a British company, Phytopharm, isolated the active component in Hoodia, a steroidal glycoside, which was named as P57.

Hoodia weightloss diet pills that are available in the market basically function by tricking the brain to assume that there is an adequate amount of energy in the form of blood sugar. This activity shuts down the hunger mechanism, thus sourcing weight loss.

It is customary advised to be taken an hour before meals with a glass of water. The consumption of Hoodia can shut down your thirst mechanism. Therefore, in order to keep away from dehydration ensure adequate amount water intake. The effectiveness of Hoodia can take up to 1 to 2 weeks to reflect weight loss results; although , several individuals observe the appetite suppressing effects within 30 minutes of consumption of Hoodia dosage.

At present, there are no available reports pertaining to any side effects after use of Hoodia. Yet, a prior recommendation of a doctor is suggested before you begin use of Hoodia as it has not yet received a FDA endorsement.

Embark upon a natural way to accomplish a healthy body with Hoodia weight loss information.
