Good Content Is Not Fluff

Author: Jeff Wark

Good content should never be fluff. The content is never vague. When you read high quality content, you know and recognize it. The question is, how do you create it?

What exactly makes good content?

Good, high quality content is interesting and/or entertaining and informative. You want your visitors to feel that they have received value. Save your more detailed information for your subscribers. Save your best and most detailed information for your customers.

Note however that you want to give your subscribers information that is content rich so they want to know more. One of the best teachers in internet marketing said you should always give your best content first. The person that reads it will think "wow if this is the kind content I get for free, what will I get in the paid information?" Your paid information should be of the highest quality.

To create explicit, rich content about your niche or topic you should include details. Make sure you are exact when explaining. Do not use abbreviations or words that someone may be unfamiliar with unless you explain them. There are many people who visit web sites and become subscribers because they are interested in the subject but are not fully knowledgeable about the subject. That's why they have visited or subscribed. It is important to share your knowledge in a way that will be helpful to visitors learning about your topic.

Make sure your audience finds your information important to them. Do not talk about unrelated issues or topics. Building a relationship with your subscribers is good. But this does not mean that you should stray from issues and topics related to your niche. Your audience should be able to relate to why you are giving them the information. Make sure the information you are giving them is valid.

Good sensible information that they can put into use is valuable. Present them with information in a no-nonsense, matter-of-fact way that is realistic to them. Do not and I mean do not be boring.

You want your audience to automatically think of you when they think of the information they have received from you. You want to be unforgettable. Your information should impress them. You want them nodding their heads yes and saying "that was excellent".

Always give your audience the same respect that you would expect. You are the expert in your niche or topic. If you want your audience to like you and trust you, give them your best. They deserve your best. Remember a happy customer is a customer forever. The better the information, the more informative it is. Being as detailed as you possibly can be, will set you apart from all the others.

If you are just starting out, create your content in small chunks. Start out by taking 10 minutes a day writing to your blog. At the end of the week look at how much information you have created just with your blog. You will be able to take the information from your blog and create an article or newsletter from the information you have already written.

Good content comes from your heart. It's your niche and you're the expert. You have the information within you. As you think about your niche or topic write these thoughts down or record them. Do something with them so you don't forget them.

There are so many uses for content. Multi-purposing your content is the way to optimize your content creation.

For example taking 10 minutes a day to write to your blog can create newsletters for your site or your membership. When using an auto responder your blog or newsletters will create the information needed to send to your subscribers. Ebooks can be created from all the above and the list goes on and on.

Most people do not retain information the first time they read it. It is beneficial to your audience to hear the information several times so they can absorb and retain the information. So, including the same information in your blog, articles and autoresponders is good. Also, you may have different people reading each of these and this will get the most exposure for your information.

Good content needs to be your best information.
