Many new webmasters will not understand what optimisation means so I have done a simple guide to help them on their way .
Unless your website is optimised it is unlikely that you will ever reach the dizzy heights of seeing your website in the top 1000 so here is what you need to do.
First and foremost if you have not got a link page on your website that is your first job, you then email as many webmasters as you can to ask for a reciprocal link. The first few weeks should be spent solely on getting links to your site.
Do not be disappointed if you do not get replies to all your emails as many webmasters have an aversion to linking to new websites but do not give up as it is very important.
Be polite when requesting a reciprocal link a simple message is all that is required as webmasters do not have time to read long and lengthy emails.
Your linking text is very important the title should contain your main keywords likewise the body text, make sure it contains keywords whilst also being interesting to attract attention.
Websites with high PR will help your ranking much more than low ranked sites but remember that these low PR sites are working like you to build their rank so it is more than likely they will reach a high PR at some point in time.
It also helps to find websites with similar keywords as your own as a group of of sites with the same or similar keywords linking to your site will show the search engines that your website is important and this will considerably lift your PR.
Keywords in the body of your website are also important with the main ones being at the top then spread throughout your page without making it too obvious. Work them in to your text so they blend in with what you are writing about.
In order to see your own Google Page Rank, as well as others, you must have the Google Toolbar installed on your computer. It is free.
If you follow this simple guide it will get you started on the road to receiving traffic and getting your website known. |
